About Us

George C. Hitt is the Owner/Operator of TopFlight Aviation of Georgia, Inc. Located at the Statesboro Airport in Statesboro, Georgia, George is on home territory. Born and raised in Statesboro, George has the inside track on aviation in Bulloch County. Having been involved in the aircraft industry since 1966 gives George a lead position in the many facets of aircraft financing, purchasing and sales.

TopFlight Aviation of Georgia, Inc. began in 1993, with the intent of dealing in corporate aircraft. After following the regional market for a year, it became evident serious consideration needed to be given to sales of the high-performance single-engine and light twin aircraft as well. Small companies were using these planes and upgrading as their companies grew. TopFlight’s primary market continued to be the turboprop and light jet markets ranging in sales from $1.0 million to $3.5 million each. During the past 10 years in Statesboro, George has sold over 190 aircraft varying in size and cost from the Cessna 150s ($18,000) to Falcon 2000s ($51 million). Most of the aircraft sold have been primarily for corporate use.

George and his wife, Lyne are active members of the Statesboro Church of God. Lyne is also a member of the Covenant Life Ministries missions team and travels to Ukraine where the team supports orphanages, ministries for street children, under-privileged families and a rehabilitation farm for adults. Together, they participate in community activities through the Statesboro Chamber of Commerce and are members of the EEOA. They are both active volunteers through Georgia Southern University’s annual “A Day for Southern” campaign whereby funds are raised in the community to support various programs and scholarships administered by the University. They have four children (ranging from age 28 to 39) and nine grandchildren.

TopFlight Aviation of Tennessee was incorporated in 1988 in Smyrna, Tennessee. Located on the site of a charter company, they worked hand-in-hand on several joint ventures including the sale and charter of Learjets, Beechcraft King Airs and other aircraft. Although family-related medical problems led George and Lyne to relocate to Georgia, they continue to maintain a relationship with their contacts in Tennessee through the sales and lease-back program.
